Proper Beach Etiquette
The speed limit on the Galveston beach is 10 miles per hour. There are no signs posted, but pass the word, please. If you see someone obviously speeding, signal them to slow down. The statewide speed limit for beaches is 15 miles per hour.
Never drive close to, or on, a dune. Dunes protect the beach and encourage sand replenishment.
Always watch carefully for people, children, and pets at play.
Put all trash in containers. Be prepared and take a trash bag with you. Always leave your section of the beach cleaner than when you arrived!
If you see someone that needs help, do it...it might be you next time.
Pass this beach etiquette on to others and let's take care of what is ours. Educate a child early on the importance of beach etiquette. They will be the future men and women that will have to fight to keep the public's rights.
